Description
The seaside town of Blackrock, overlooking Dublin bay, is famous for its shops, cafes and weekend market, Blackrock College lies four miles from Dublin city center. ATC's comprehensive program offers a wide range of games, sport and excursions while studying English on the college's charming, picturesque grounds.
Blackrock is a well renowned suburb of Dublin. It is a largely residential area and is only 8km south of Dublin city center. There are very frequent buses and trains (DART), which will have you in the heart of the city within 15 minutes.
Blackrock college is a large educational complex. It has extenisve wooded parklands and playing fields with a magnificent view of Dublin Bay. The school was originally opened in 1860. Part of this large complex includes 'The Castle', which is a historical building formerly called Williamstown Castle, built in 1780 which now acts as the residential accomodation.
Students can relax in the spacious student lounges or on the college park grounds. After lessons there will be held some workshops like World of Work workshops, drama classes and Irish sports. The swimming pool, playing fields, sports hall and tennis courts are open to students. The children will also taste real Irish chocolate in a chocolate factory and visit the Guinness Museum. The weekend trip will take pupils to the Glendaloch Valley and Ireland's cleanest town, Bray.
Children will be staying at Williamstown Castle on the college campus. The rooms are double and five-bedded. Rooms are cleaned daily and linen and laundry is changed once a week. Meals are provided three times a day and packed lunch on the weekend.
